I am first and foremost a follower of Jesus Christ. A sinner saved by His amazing grace. I love Jesus because He first loved me and have been saved from God’s wrath only by His sovereign grace. I find myself wanting to find more and more ways to tell others about Christ and feel this blog may just be one of them. I am reformed in my theology and hold to the Westminster Standards.
My King saved me – a wretched sinner – by His grace. For over 20 years of my life I walked around thinking I was saved because I repeated a prayer and was baptized. You see, I was putting my faith in repeating a prayer and something I was doing, not in Christ and His finished work. For more than twenty years I was as lost as ever. My God then graciously transformed my heart of stone to a heart of flesh and opened my eyes to His glory. By His sovereign grace, my eyes were opened to my utter sinfulness and my hopelessness on my own. Through the gift of faith and repentance I trust only in the person and work of Christ for my salvation and now belong to Him. I desire to be conformed more and more into the image of Jesus Christ and desire to know Him more and more and to make Him known! I’m definitely a work in progress, as all believers are.

Your mission field is one of the hardest. This blessed prosperous nation has turned from God and you are correct that most congregations know nothing of the Holy Spirit and the real reason they should be attending worship with fellow believers on Sunday. Thank you for your efforts, they have been a blessing to me.
For His service, Tim
Thanks so much Tim! I agree with you that the American church is quite the mission field but how wonderful to know that nothing is more powerful than our great God and Savior Jesus Christ. His Church is safe and secure and nothing can tear down the Church Invisible! Amen!
Great learning about you, my brother. You have already become a blessing in my life!!
We sir have alot in common! :)
Thanks for all your efforts, we’ll pray that God keeps you strong.
Hello Jay –
You and I share the same concern as regards the church in America. I often wonder if, when Jesus considers the church in post-Christian America he sees Laodicea version 2.0?
Praying for you and praying for a return to serious Bible study in the church.
(note: for the reader who follows and is wondering what I’m driving at, read Revelation 3, starting at verse 14, the letter from Jesus to the church in Laodicea.)
Yep.. lukewarm does seem to be the temperature of most of the visible church today! Thanks for your comments and press on!
Thanks so much Andy for your words of encouragement and thanks for stopping by!
Soli Deo Gloria!
Jay, thanks for posting so regularly; I always like coming to read your thoughts because it’s refreshing and a reminder of the Truth in which I believe. Is Valley of Vision sold anywhere other than Amazon (like a Christian bookstore or regular bookstore)?
Hi Lydia,
Thanks for your kind words. Valley of Vision is probably best found online since very few bookstores seem to carry it. Not sure where you are located but in Columbia, SC First Presbyterian Church carries it in their bookstore. (Located on Marion Street in Columbia.) You may want to check around with the reformed churches in your area as they may have a book service and carry it locally. You can also order it online through Monergismbooks.com – a wonderful online Christian bookstore which I cannot recommend enough!
Soli Deo Gloria!
Thank you so much for presenting the full gospel of Jesus Christ without compromise! I really enjoy your site. I hope you choose to put a tab so that I could subscribe to get your messages as you post them. God bless you, my brother.
