Thanksgiving

November 25th, 2008

I have so much to be thankful for.  Frankly, we should thank our God everyday for each and every breath we take and for every beat of our heart as they are gifts from God.  We should also thank Him for the trials that come into our life as we know that “all things work for good for those who love God and are called according to His purpose.”  Rom. 8:28

May we also remember those who are lost in this world - those without Christ.  Those whose sins are causing the wrath of God to abide on them.  May we have our hearts filled with the love of Christ to go therefore and boldly proclaim the Gospel of God to a sick and dying world.

I thank my God for His Son Jesus Christ.  For through His mercy and grace my sins are forgiven through His merit and atoning death and the wrath of Almighty God is propitiated since He became my sin on that cross.  ”Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”  (John 1:29)

As we celebrate Thanksgiving this year may we be reminded of the most ultimate gift we should be thankful for -the gift of eternal life and pardon through faith in Christ Jesus by grace.  May we be thankful of the gift of the Holy Spirit as He dwells within us to comfort and guide us as we eagerly await and groan for the coming of our Lord with all of His mighty angels.  May Christ reign in your hearts as you experience His grace and mercy this Thanksgiving day.

Sola Gratia | Sola Fide | Solus Christus | Sola Scripture | Soli Deo Gloria!
