I Hate the Prosperity Gospel!
I was going to write a long post here on my absolute hatred for what is called the “prosperity gospel” but came across a video that sums it up for me better than I could ever write something. You know the prosperity gospel - it’s probably in your church. The preaching and teaching of health, wealth and prosperity. This heretical teaching is rampant on nearly all television programs (mainly by the so-called mega churches) and has caused many false converts in churches today. It’s right there in my book with “easy-believism” - the equally problematic presentation that is “invite Jesus into your heart”. Where in the Bible is that???
I’ll leave “easy believism” for another post because I too was one who was sold on the whole easy believism presentation of the Gospel until my eyes were opened by God Almighty and revealed the true Gospel message through His Word.
That aside, here is one of my favorite pastor/theologians speaking on the prosperity gospel. My prayer is that if you are reading this and are involved in a church that preaches, teaches or promotes this heretical teaching that your eyes will be opened to the true Gospel message of Jesus Christ. Be a Berean (Acts 17:10-11) and check everything you read or hear against Scripture.
What is your treasure? Is it money, career, stability, house, sex, car, wife or husband? Or is your treasure God. Is God all satisfying to you? Is God your treasure?
Watch this video and think about it and pray that God will open your heart and your eyes to Truth.

This is an excerpt from a conference Piper spoke at called Brothers, Think Preach and Think Christ. It’s available on his web site I believe. Good stuff huh? Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) is plagued with the prosperity gospel and I urge all Christians to write TBN stating your disgust of these “preachers”.
Came across this discussion late tonight.
Why are you guys so addicted to religiosity…worshipping the book instead of the Writer.All this venom…all this wasted energy on who is correct and who is heretical…when there are people out in the world dying for hope.There is little attraction to the thirsty for the pure sand of your gospel.Where is the water?
Spend less time in conferences and more time in homeless shelters.Get a life!

The reason why certain things need to be fought is because if these heretical teachings are not brought to light then sending this “gospel” into homeless shelters will not bring the water you speak of but will bring poison.
There is one true Gospel and the “prosperity gospel” is NOT it. The gate is narrow my friend. (Matt. 7:13)
So many of us spend so much time helping the hungry, thirsty and broken hearted. We spend time in homeless shelters, poverty stricken communities and drug rehabilitation clinics and see zero fruit from a “gospel” that doesn’t preach an all satisfying knowledge of Jesus Christ through the blessings of wealth or a tragedy beyond comprehension. We see the fruit of the world when the desires of this life become the center of our affection. We have found our reward when all we seek is more comfort in this life rather than the depth of an eternal God who is to be feared regardless of what type of roof we have over our heads.

I want everything you know about these sons of damnation(if they refuse to repent)and their hell bound prosperity gospel.I dont believe in the entire theological system that bred these guys from America.
